CHARITY PARTNERS

We are pleased to be in a position to give something back with the help of our guests. We commit for every guest flying into to stay with us to preserve half an acre of rainforest with a UK based charity World Land Trust. (www.worldlandtrust.org)

The World Land Trust is a registered charity; its Patrons are Sir David Attenborough OM CH FRS and David Gower OBEThe Mission of the World Land Trust is to:

· protect and sustainably manage natural ecosystems of the World. To conserve their biodiversity with emphasis on threatened habitats and endangered species.

· develop partnerships with local individuals, communities and organisations to engage support and commitment among the people who live in project areas,

· raise awareness in the UK, and elsewhere, of the need for conservation to improve understanding and generate support through education, information and fundraising.

In 2008 WLT began its Orang-utan appeal with a view to saving parcels of vital habitat for the Orang-utan and other wildlife of Sabah to survive. This land is critically threatened by oil palm plantation.

The World Land Trust has been saving wildlife, acre by acre, since 1989. WLT is a UK-based international charity that works in conjunction with local partners, to buy and protect threatened habitats which are vital to the survival of threatened and endemic species. Nearly 400,000 acres of tropical forests, wetlands and grasslands have been purchased and are being protected, and over 2-million acres more are being protected for conservation.    WLT always works in partnership with local Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) in whom the ownership is vested; WLT works with them to protect and manage the land for conservation.

These are Real Acres in Real Places: you can find them on maps and you can even visit them.

Our other commitment is to donate to organisations here in China. One such Chinese partner is a Charity Art project which uses work donated by local professional Traditional Chinese Painters & Calligraphers which it then sells on with all proceeds going to local hospitals and help people with no means of paying medical bills, China Red Cross & Youth Charities. As well as our donation there will also be the opportunity for guests to purchase some work themselves giving you a direct way of contributing to the area you will be staying in and a nice keep sake of your time here in China.
