Master Gao - Shao Lin Kung Fu

· Shaolin SongShan Temple Trained

· Traditional Shaolin

· Specialises in Golden Bell Qi Gong

Master Cao is an old fashioned 30th generation Shaolin teacher taught inside the Shaolin Temple the old martial practises of the fighting protection monks.

He is a seasoned and experienced practitioner and teacher at a perfect age for passing on his wealth of knowledge and experience and also at an age where he can demonstrate it all too effectively.

Master Cao was trained in the Shaolin Songshan Temple from 1989-1993 in the traditional Shaolin arts.  During his time there he learned Small and Large Red Fists (Xiao/Da Hong Quan), Luo Han Fist, Staff, Sword and Whip.  From learning these arts he then moved onto to deepen his study and specialise in Shaolin Hard Qi Gong.  The particular kinds he favours are Iron Head, Iron Hand and Iron Body or Golden Bell Qi Gong and very soon after meeting Master Cao you will be all too aware of the intensive conditioning programme he puts himself through daily.

With the kind of skills Master Cao has acquired it is of little surprise that following leaving the temple he has spent a number of years as a high level military guard looking after extremely sensitive areas in Beijing where the countries top officials live and work. He was then invited to train the military in bare hand practises before becoming a personal bodyguard for a number of years.

Most recently he has returned to teaching the arts he has learned and we are very pleased to have such a highly skilled practitioner and teacher happy to share such rare and precious knowledge with our visitors. He will also be teaching an introduction to the Chan meditation he learned in the temple to integrate mind with movement.

Master Miao Lin Fa Shi  – Qi/Nei Gong

Master Miao is currently the head of the Kunming Nan Shan Si or South Mountain Temple in the Western Mountains of Kunming City.  He is a practising Buddhist monk of the Chan and Jing Tu (Clean Earth) Branches of Buddhism, although his life history has given him exposure and knowledge of many other kinds of spiritual and Internal energy practises.

His story is a fascinating one of determination and hardship with the kind of apprenticeship which only a handful of people could have endured.  It started in 1988 when after graduating from university he set about studying and trying to understand Buddhism.  Sceptical at first he wandered from city to city, mountain to mountain searching out numerous teachers and learning from them.  His travels lasted over 18 years took him from Burma to Sichuan province and included stays on EMei Shan Mountain.  During this time he endured great hardship and suffering with no money, food and often no shelter.  He was driven on by his desire to understand more about Buddhism and other spiritual traditions and to help people along the way.  This period of effective exile ended when in 2007 he returned to Kunming to head up the Shi Chuan Temple before moving to his current place of residence.  more...
